Cygnet Cycling Festival
The Southern most cycling race in Australia
Event Info
01 — Hell of the South
The main event and race around the picturesque Huon Valley town of Cygnet. 60km ride incorporating gruelling hills and an 8km gravel sector. This race is not for the faint hearted.
02 — Social event
For those less interested in racing but still want to enjoy the scenic and iconic route around the Cygnet Coast rd. A 26km ride, this ride takes you out of Cygnet, then turn left onto a closed Cygnet Coast rd.
03 — Junior event
16km out and back along Cygnet Coast rd.
04 - Community Ride
We are excited to be adding in a 5km community ride along Cygnet Coast road thanks to AusCycling’s Ride Nation Program!
05 - Loongana Park
Our event hub will be located into Loogana Park (opposite Poolish and co) to help drive business into the township of Cygnet. It is important for us to not just run a family friendly event, but to help support the surrounding businesses as well as being easily accessible for young families to come check out what is happening.
A number of bike shops, workshops, face painting and plenty of family friendly activities are going to be held at Loongana Park, right in the heart of Cygnet. So whether you’re racing, participating in an event or dragged along by bike mad family, we have something for you!
06 - Parking
Our official parking hub will be based at Burtons Reserve, however there are plenty of opportunities to park. We will also be directing people down Lymington rd (near the finish line) as well as the Port Cygnet Cannery carpark.
There will be another event on the day at St James School. Due to the heavy traffic on the day, we request people do not park on main rd, Mary st or George st as you will inhibit local traffic and trade.
07 - Presentations
We will once again be holding presentations at Red Velvet Lounge from 1:30pm. Red Velvet will be cooking a limited number of pizzas (so get in quick), however it would also mean a lot to us if you show them some support by purchasing additional food and drink on the day!
